Military Coverage
While military families share many of the same health issues as civilians, some health matters are intensified among every family member in theater and on the homefront. The military is an elite population; one of the only communities not bound by race, age or financial status to qualify for their own health care system. That fact was enough to get Lara digging. Just a glimpse into the overall system, knit communities, or even personal stories can show interesting trends. Yet many stories -- besides sendoffs and homecomings -- go untold.
Lara is passionate about connecting with and reporting issues relevant to military families. She is an experienced military journalist who uses all forms of media -- including photography -- to capture profound military moments.
